Chloe Tells You How

Chloe Tells You How

Long time no talk! No, I haven’t been in hiding, I’ve just been so engrossed in working on the book, that I’ve hardly had time to lift my head.

Did you miss me??

Well it’s almost finished now, all it needs now is a few sprinkles of fairy dust and it’ll be ready for you.

Here’s a work in process photo of one of the projects in the book…

Here are a couple of behind the scenes pictures from the last photoshoot. The photographer is Claire Richardson, who’s brilliant. She’s such fun to work with, we always have such a giggle on shoots.

It’s trickier than you might think coming up with original, interesting and do-able ideas for you to make. I really hope you like my choices this time around, I’ve tried to make them fun, and things that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. I have some fantastic illustrators this time around which I’m very excited about. Gemma Correll is involved again, but also some new talents, some you might know such as Ingela Arrhenius and Nicholas Frith, and some you may not be familiar with, such as Luciano Lozano who’s work reminds me of Sasek (whose illustrations I love).

The concept of the book is hopefully a very interesting one to you. I’ve based it around a vintage children’s annual. You might remember Girl, Playhour, Crystal or even the The Dandy? Well if so, and you were fan, then you may very well like my new book. The projects are set out like little comic strips, with characters telling us how to make each one, with a bit of narrative added in for extra flavour.

It’s a tongue in cheek tribute, and something I hope will appeal to grown ups, making magical childhood memories come flooding back happily, but also to inspire children in life’s simple pleasures.

Here is the last thing I worked on for the book… I wonder if you can guess what it’ll be?

In other news, we have a new member to our little family! A puppy called Ringo. We rescued him from Pro Dogs Direct, he was found in Spain and brought over to England by a volunteer. He’s half Chihuahua, half Jack Russell (I think they’re called Jackhuahua!) and he’s settled in very well and making friends with Twiggy gradually.

I also have a studio at cockpit arts! Come and visit at the Christmas open day where I’ll be selling lots of handmade goodies and my new range of products! I’ll be at Holborn studios, studio E4 from 29th November – 1st December , entry is £5.

See you there!
